| The large sea to the south of the region is pleasant close to shore, but becomes quite treacherous once you travel further out.

| Between the cities of Shale and Agate, there is a wetland. It can take some time to travel through and you can get lost fairly easily, but it's still the easiest way to get between the two cities.

| The water of this large lake is clear, but usually too cold for most people to want to swim in it. Water Pokemon don't mind the temperatures, and many can be caught here.

| There is a path going around the smaller lake to the northeast of Lake Milan. Agate City is at the west end and Quartzite City is at the east end. Just to the north lies Bismite Town.

| The only path to Dolomite Town is through the grasslands. It is an extremely flat area until just before reaching Dolomite, where there is a steep slope heading down. Although it is not so bad going down, getting back up is not so pleasant.

| The smaller of the two seas is on the north of the region. Far out, there is an island where the Pokemon League is, but it takes dedication to get that far out into the sea.

| The mountains are almost always have a snowcap, although lower elevations can be quite pleasant. There is a series of caves in the mountains, and some are said to go all the way through, which would allow travelers to avoid the cold mountain tops, but the journey through the caves can be treacherous.

| The series of caves may have a passageway from Quartzite City to Mica Town, although most choose to take the longer path over the mountains.

| After leaving the mountains, one finds themselves in a dry desert. The short path is the harder path, as there is little water along the way, so most travelers choose to head south through the mountains and come out near the river before heading north to Mica Town.

| The eastern side of the mountains is far more pleasant than the western side. There is a path leading to Obsidian village, but it is old, and vegetation has grown over the path in some areas, making it hard to follow.
